Part A.1: Developing interview technique

As part of work experience I had to look at what jobs people did in the company and how they got to where they are today. I used a flipcam to film the interview the staff. The flipcam is very easy to use with only a few buttons to press it is very easy to stop, start, and save your films. The best thing about the flipcam is when you flick a switch on the side the top of the flipcam opens up revealing a USB ( hence the name flipcam ). This is then easily plugged into the USB port in your computer where you can quickly install the software when then you can easily upload and share your videos through Facebook and Twitter etc.

Anyway technology aside, I really enjoyed hearing about peoples backstories about how they got into the company and also the roles they have in the company and how they carry it out

Before doing these interviews I had no experience of doing interviews. At first I was a bit nervous as to what questions I should ask people but then I found questions in my work experience book which gave me a basis on to what I should ask.

Before the interview I asked the person If they wanted to have a practice question to get a breif idea of what questions I was going to ask. If they wanted to also I could show them my work experience book questions to know excactly what sort of questions I was going to ask them. During the interview though it was very interesting to hear about peoples work. In some cases I tried to get people to build on their answer. This competely individualises each interview.

If I were to ever do this again I would try to build on people's answers more and get more information from them.
